5 Natural Remedies For Back Pain

Most of use have back pain from time to time. Here are some natural remedies for back pain. If severe please contact your physician.

Tennis Ball Massage: You will need 2 tennis balls and two feet of duct tape. Lay the duck tape sticky side facing up.  Place the two tennis balls on top of the tape a couple inches from the end.  The balls should be touching and the tape should be right in-between. First take the few inches of tape left on the end and wrap it around the junction where the balls meet.  Press the tape towards the meeting point to close any gaps.  Roll the balls along the tape pressing in the tape towards the center as you go. Now lay on the floor, face up, and place at the center of your back. Make a rolling motion to massage your back.

Epsom Salt and Baking Soda Bath. You will need:

  • 3 cups Epsom Salts
  • 1 cup baking soda
  • fill your bath with as hot as you can stand without burning yourself.
  • 40 drops lavender essential oil (optional but nice)
  • Large Glass Jar
  1. Combine dry ingredients and store in a closed container
  2. At bath time, add 1 cup of dry ingredients and the lavender to the water
  3. Soak for 20-40 minutes

Ice pack and heating pad.  Apply the ice pack (frozen peas work great or a baggie of ice). First place the ice pack on the back for about 10 minutes. Now, place a small towel then the heating pad ( set the pad on low or  medium) on the same spot for 10 minutes. Repeat the ice pack for another five minutes.

Castor Oil. Use 1-2 teaspoons castor oil. Lightly warm up the oil. Massage the affected area with this for a few minutes. Leave the oil overnight.

Apple Cider Vinegar.  Dilute 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar with 2 cups warm water and dip a towel in this. Wring out the excess water and wrap this towel around the affected area. Leave it on for an hour or so.
